About Me

Hello, my name is Taylor Adams. I am a freshman in the Honors College at the University of Nevada, where I am majoring in finance with minors in economics and accounting. I currently work for the Honors College as one of their ambassadors. After I graduate in May 2028, I plan to pursue a career as a commercial banker.

I am the oldest of four children. I have two sisters and one brother, with our ages all being two years apart. In my extended family, I also have one older half-cousin and six younger cousins. Both of my parents are from northeast Mississippi. My dad’s side of the family has been in the United States since its inception, and my mother’s parents immigrated to the United States from China in the 60s.

I am originally from Starkville, Mississippi, and grew up a Mississippi State fan. I moved to Virginia Beach, Virginia, when I was nine, followed by a move to Reno, Nevada, when I was 16. In my time in school, I attended eight different public schools. The one thing they all had in common was that I was able to embrace my love for athletics. When I lived in Mississippi, I got to watch Mississippi State become the number one seed in the first-ever College Football Playoff ranking. They called those “the Dak years,” and that ignited my love for football. I also started playing baseball my last spring in town, which began my overall love for athletics.

When I got to high school in Virginia, I went to Frank W. Cox High School, which is ranked as one of the top 15 public schools in the nation. I played football and baseball there, and in 2023, our team won the 5A state championship.

Once I moved to Nevada, I was unable to continue playing sports, as I had already dealt with two surgeries. That is when I started watching sports heavily and also found my love for listening to music. I listen to most types of music but particularly enjoy full albums. I prefer albums over singles because I like listening to the whole story, not just one portion of it. I also really enjoy philosophy and understanding other people’s mindsets, which is another reason I appreciate albums over singles.

I don’t have all my life goals figured out right now. I just want to finish school and get into a master’s program. Hopefully, soon after that, I can find a wife, get married, and have children. With the career I hope to have, I should have a good income trajectory to keep my family fed and happy.
